The Nepal Grey Langur also known as Himalayan Langur, is a species of gray langur that is found only in the Himalayas, namely in Nepal, northern India, far southwestern Tibet, northern Pakistan, Bhutan, and probably Afghanistan. The species is often seen inside forested areas situated at altitudes ranging from 1,500 to 4,000 meters (4,900 to 13,100 feet). This large primate is characterized by its thick, grayish fur, long tail, and black face surrounded by white fur. Himalayan Langurs are primarily folivores, feeding on leaves, fruits, flowers, and occasionally bark, which they find in their forested habitats.
They live in social groups led by dominant males, with complex behaviors that include vocal communication and grooming. Due to habitat loss and human disturbances, their populations are under pressure, although they are not currently classified as endangered.
