The House Mouse is a small rodent that is one of the most widely distributed mammal species in the world, often living in close association with humans. Native to parts of Asia, it has spread globally and thrives in a variety of environments, including urban areas, agricultural lands, and wild habitats.
The House Mouse is small, measuring about 6–10 cm in body length, with a tail of similar length. It typically weighs between 12–30 grams. Its fur is usually grey or brown with lighter underparts, and it has a pointed snout, large ears, and small, beady eyes. The species is highly adaptable and has excellent climbing and burrowing abilities.
House Mice are omnivorous, nocturnal and highly social. They reproduce quickly, with females capable of producing multiple litters of 4–12 young per year.
