The Large-eared Pika is a small, herbivorous mammal found in the high-altitude regions of the Nepal, Bhutan, and Indian Himalayas. It inhabits rocky, alpine meadows and steep slopes, typically at elevations ranging from 3,000 to 5,000 meters.
The Large-eared Pika is named for its notably large ears, which are one of its distinctive features. Its fur is typically brown or grayish, providing camouflage in its rocky habitat. Like other pika species, it has a round body, short legs, and a relatively short tail. It weighs around 150–300 grams and is about 18–22 cm in body length, with ears that are much larger compared to other pika species.
This pika is primarily herbivorous, feeding on grasses, mosses, and other plants.
