Javan Pipistrelle Pipistrellus javanicus

The Javan Pipistrelle is a small, insectivorous bat widely distributed across South and Southeast Asia, including India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Indonesia. It is commonly found in urban and rural areas, often roosting in buildings, crevices, and under roof tiles.

This bat has short, soft fur that is usually brown to dark gray, with a lighter underside. It has a small body, measuring around 4–5 cm in length, and a wingspan of about 20–25 cm. Its flight is quick and agile, allowing it to hunt efficiently around streetlights and open areas.

The Javan Pipistrelle is nocturnal and feeds on a variety of small flying insects. It often lives in close proximity to humans and adapts well to disturbed habitats.
